自身が所有する1937 年から1941 年までアメリカ陸軍航空隊のために生産されていたM-38 Hatをよりかぶりやすくするために再設計。

401 Engineer Coat を再設計し、衿を直線的にした。ベルト位置はブランドを象徴するハイウエストに配置している。丈をジャケットとコートの間で提案する。使用しているバックやボタンなどは鉄製で錆止めを一切していないので、時間が経つごとに錆びていき、経年変化が楽しめる。

元々の平面的な簡素なつくりの構造を、人体工学の観点からより立体的に動きやすい構造へ変更。
